VAL-D’OR, QUEBEC–(EMWNews – Aug. 21, 2008) – THIS NEWS RELEASE IS NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UNITED STATES NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES.

Dianor Resources Inc. (TSX Venture:DOR) is pleased to inform its shareholders that it has retained the services of Mr. Tom Landers P. Eng of Sault Ste. Marie, as project manager of the company’s advanced exploration project and flagship property, the Leadbetter Diamond Property, situated 12 kilometres north east of the town of Wawa, Northern Ontario. Mr. Lander’s mandate is to manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the project from overseeing a team of consultants including experts in the environmental, mining engineering and mineral processing fields; to permitting (including mine closure plans); to the excavation of 34,000 tonnes of diamond bearing conglomerate from two underground ramps; to extraction of the diamonds by on site DMS processing in order to obtain a parcel of diamonds of between 7,000 and 13,000 carats for valuation (press release December 6th 2007). The work programmes are based on the recommendations outlined in the 43-101 compliant report “Preliminary Tonnage Estimate for the Diamondiferous Conglomerates of the Leadbetter Diamond Project” dated August 29th 2007 and prepared for Dianor Resources Inc. by Verley, D’Amours and Martel.

Mr. Landers is a mining engineer with a Masters of Science degree (rock mechanics, 1986) from Queen’s University, Ontario and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. During his professional career he has filled various positions at Algoma Steel Inc. (now Essar Steel Algoma), involving mine and project management including positions as Chief Mine Engineer, Mine Manager and Project Manager. He has been intimately involved in mine design, mine management and optimization and has published articles on these topics. The primary focus of Mr. Lander’s efforts has been directed towards Algoma Steel’s mining properties in Northern Ontario, particularly the Wawa area and Northern Michigan, USA and during this period, 1974 to 1998, he resided in Wawa. From 1992 to 1999 he was the Manager of Mines for Algoma Steel Inc., overseeing the Wawa area iron ore mines and consulting on Algoma’s Michigan open pit operations. As a Project Manager at Essar Steel, one of his most recent projects was managing Essar Steel Algoma “Closure Plan for the MacLeod Mine” and expediting its’ development, execution and approval.

Mr. Lander’s rationale for accepting this position with Dianor is described by him as follows “I have followed the Leadbetter Project closely from the very beginning. Consequently, I am aware of its’ tremendous potential and as a mining engineer, am excited at the opportunity to help advance it. The town of Wawa is also very special to me; I met my wife Mia, there. We raised our family in Wawa. Reconnecting with our Wawa roots is a bonus.”

Mr. Landers’ combination of mine and project management experience, as well as his familiarity with the Wawa area, make him the ideal Manager for the Leadbetter Project. Currently the permitting process for the bulk sampling is progressing through the Provincial Government with a governmental Inter-Agency Meeting scheduled for September 26th 2008. Shortly thereafter public and First Nations presentations and consultations will commence followed by formal submittal to the Director of the Mineral Development and Lands Branch of the MNDM (Ministry of Northern Development and Mining) for final approval to proceed with the bulk sampling.

Dianor is an innovative exploration company focused on advancing diamond exploration properties in Canada. The Leadbetter Diamond Project is its most advanced project and is located 12 kilometres north east of Wawa in Northern Ontario. Substantial exploration work has been conducted on the property since 2005 and the Company is planning a HQ drilling programme and is in the process of permitting a 34,000 tonne bulk sampling programme. In addition to diamonds, it contains gold, sapphires and rubies (press release January 18th 2007). New diamond discoveries by the Company in rocks of similar type, age (Archean) and geological settings (press release March 3rd 2008) in Quebec have added further diamond properties to our portfolio of low cost, accessible exploration targets. These diamond discoveries (Ontario and Quebec) are both unique and amongst the oldest diamond bearing occurrences in the world.
