Elections Canada issues writ of by-election for Don Valley West (Ontario)
OTTAWA, ONTARIO–(EMWNews – Aug. 17, 2008) – – The writ of by-election was issued today by Elections Canada for the federal by-election to be held on September 22, 2008, in the electoral district of Don Valley West (Ontario) to fill a vacancy in the House of Commons.
– All Canadian citizens in Don Valley West who are at least 18 years of age on election day are eligible to vote. To vote in a federal by-election, an elector’s address of ordinary residence must be in the electoral district from the first day of revision of the lists of electors, August 20, 2008, until election day, September 22, 2008.
– Electors in Don Valley West will be able to vote at advance polls on Friday, September 12, Saturday, September 13 and Monday September 15; on election day; or by special ballotElectors who wish to vote by special ballot must apply for their special voting kit no later than 6:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Applications are available at www.elections.ca, by phone or in person at Elections Canada offices and Canadian diplomatic missions. less than
