The Little Ones Sign With Chop Shop/Atlantic; Acclaimed Indie-Pop Group Announce Fall Tour to Coincide With U.S. Release of Full-Length Debut; “Morning Tide” Arrives October 7th

NEW YORK, NY–(EMWNews – August 6, 2008) – Acclaimed indie-pop group The Little Ones have

signed with Atlantic affiliate label Chop Shop Records, and unveiled plans

for the U.S. release of their full-length debut, “Morning Tide.” Recently

released independently via the venerable Heavenly Recordings in the UK, the

album is already receiving a flood of critical praise — with NME calling

it “…a collection of songs that take the word ‘pop’ in ‘pop music’

literally, bursting with effervescence and joy.” The highly anticipated,

11-song collection will arrive in stores and online on October 7.

To support the U.S. release of “Morning Tide,” The Little Ones have

announced a run of tour dates with NYC-based indie rockers The Walkmen.

The two-week jaunt kicks off at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, NC on October 2nd

(see below itinerary).

Los Angeles-based The Little Ones burst onto the music scene with their

self-released mini-album, “Sing-Song,” in 2005. The New York Times called

the collection “…one of the year’s most lovable indie-rock CDs.” NME

went even further with their 9-out-of-10 review, dubbing it “…the best

‘pop’ album this millennium.” The band has also built a passionate

following with their energetic live shows, touring in both the U.S. and

abroad with the Kaiser Chiefs, The Magic Numbers, and Ra-Ra Riot, not to

mention at such events as the Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits festivals.

The group self-released a sneak preview of “Morning Tide” in the form of

their “Terry Tales and Fallen Gates” EP this past spring, prompting a

“Breaking Out” feature in Spin, which noted “…The Little Ones play a

perky brand of blue-skies indie pop that sounds like a retrofitted blast

from California’s endless-summer past.”

The Little Ones are: Edward Reyes (vocals, guitar), Brian Reyes (bass,

vocals), Ian Moreno (guitar), Lee LaDonceur (keyboards), David Esau

(drums).
