About Katherine Therien:

Katherine Therien is a retired teacher committed to reinventing herself. Born in Salmon, Idaho, Katherine recognizes that small-town values contributed to her development and who she is today. Those same values also limited her growth as a human. Instead of going to college out of high school, she went to work managing a restaurant and had one goal, and that was to be a mommy and wife. Her focus then shifted to earning a college degree so that she could provide an abundant life for her son. This new goal resulted in a Secondary History Degree, followed by a Master of Education Literacy and various certifications. Katherine spent the next twenty years teaching history, Special Education, and English, but her greatest impact as a teacher was during the last nine years of her career teaching at-risk students in a residential program.

Her new aspiration is to pursue a writing career because full-time gardening and lawn care did not fulfill her heartfelt desire to continue impacting lives.

What If? It’s Okay is Katherine’s first professional attempt at publishing and addresses her absolute certainty that all children need to be loved and accepted regardless of their chosen life path.
