TORONTO, ONTARIO–(EMWNews – Aug. 15, 2008) – The Canadian Forces invites the public to join them at the Canadian Forces Musical Salute on Aug 16 at 7:00 pm. This event will take place on the BMO Field at the CNE grounds.
“Music has always been an integral part of the Canadian Forces and the Musical Salute is one way that we can thank Canadians for their continued support,” states Brigadier General Jean-Claude Collin, Commander Joint Task Force Central and Land Force Central Area. “We invite everyone to the CNE so we can personally thank all those who have supported the brave men and women who serve in Canada’s military.”
The Canadian Forces Musical Salute is one the many activities occurring as part of Warriors Day at the CNE. The highlight of evening will be the performance of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with real cannons. Also featured are Juno-nominated singing sensation Julian Austin, Quebec vocalist Danielle Bourre and professional guitarist and saxophonist Romulo Delgado.
The Canadian Forces military display is situated at the CNE Princess gate and showcases a variety of interactive displays, cutting-edge military equipment and offers the opportunity to talk with soldiers, sailors, airmen and airwomen about their experiences in the Canadian Forces.
