American Canyon, Napa County, CA (EMWNews) July 23, 2008 — Fairhope Vintners, a producer of classically styled wines from Napa Valley and North Coast appellations is offering the first release of its 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in selected markets; providing excellent value for the fine wine consumer and collector.

The mission of Fairhope Vintners is to make Cabernet Sauvignon in a classic, age-worthy style contrasting many of today’s over-ripe wines that possess little ability to age or pair well with food and are no longer representative of their appellations.

Our purpose is to provide today’s fine wine consumers with gems that truly represent their appellations and will perform well on the table and in the cellar. Wines that have power AND elegance, not fat or high octane. We want fine wine retailers and restaurateurs to offer them with confidence and as a point of difference against what seems to have become the mainstream style.

The fruit is sourced from notable vineyards throughout Napa Valley and California’s North Coast appellations such as St. Helena, Spring Mountain, Yountville and Mt. Veeder as well as Sonoma and Lake County. Wines from these outstanding vineyards are blended, as in Bordeaux tradition, to achieve a singular wine, showing aromatic complexity, balance, structure and length. Produced in small lots, the wines are finished in French oak.

Fairhope Vintners is able to achieve its outstanding value proposition by maintaining low economies of scale through making wine at a contract winemaking facility in American Canyon, Napa County.

Fairhope Vintners will market their wines through traditional distribution channels to restaurants and independent retailers with the fine dining consumer and collector in mind. Chris Jones, President of Fairhope Vintners is quoted saying, “Our purpose is to provide today’s fine wine consumers with gems that truly represent their appellations and will perform well on the table and in the cellar. Wines that have power AND elegance, not fat or high octane. We want fine wine retailers and restaurateurs to offer them with confidence and as a point of difference against what seems to have become the mainstream style.”

Fairhope is committed to protecting the environment by utilizing advanced methods of sustainable viticulture and winemaking through their partners. Many of their growers are members of the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) and our winery is in the process of certifying their two crush facilities in Napa. The winery is also part of the TerraCycle program in which our used barrels are recycled and turned into composters and rain catchments benefiting homeowners throughout the USA.

Fairhope’s packaging is fully recyclable and partially sustainable using 70-80% recycled glass. Streamlined production reduces excess trucking of packaging supplies. Corrugated packaging doubles as a shipper which minimizes the need for additional packaging materials when shipping direct to consumer; produced from 70% first-use, natural paper from sustainable foresting and 30% post-consumer. All materials including the natural cork, glass, paper, tin capsule and corrugated packaging are fully recyclable.

Fairhope Vintners’ offerings are the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (85% Cabernet Sauvignon 7.5% Cabernet Franc 7.5% Merlot/ 872 cases produced) US$45; North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon (100% varietal/2000 cases produced) US$30; and two single vineyard wines (2009 release/560 cases produced) from key vineyard sites not yet announced. The 2007 vintage release of the Napa Valley Cab and North Coast Blend will be offered in the 4th quarter of 2008.

Fairhope Vintners will continue to build their production over five years to a target of 10,000+ cases.
