LI-COR Updates Product and Application Guide for Summer 2008

LINCOLN, Neb., Aug. 11 /EMWNews/ -- LI-COR Biosciences announces an

updated Infrared Fluorescent Products Guide offering accessories and

reagent products including infrared-labeled secondary antibodies, protein

labeling kits, Western blotting kits, In-Cell Western(TM) assay kits,

Western blotting buffers, and protein stains. The guide includes

application notes on improving quantification accuracy on Western Blots,

technology and optical agent information for near-infrared molecular

imaging and application guides for a variety of infrared imaging

applications. A download version is available at http://www.licor.com/bio

New products include the MPX Blotting System that creates up to 24

independent channels on a single blot for chemiluminescence, colorimetric,

and infrared imaging applications. The MPX can be incorporated into a

variety of assays including primary and secondary antibody screening,

monoclonal antibody screening, signal transduction pathway analysis, and

time course studies. However, it is possible to adapt nearly all common

Western procedures that generate a PVDF or Nitrocellulose blot of 7 x 8.5

cm to the MPX format.

The new Pearl(TM) In Vivo Small Animal Imaging system is optimized for

use with LI-COR IRDye Infrared Dyes and offers superior results with

one-touch image acquisition in less than 30 seconds. The Pearl Imager

features a compact footprint (16" x 16" x 25") ideal for space-conscious

labs and portability.

The Pearl Imager joins LI-COR's line up of imaging systems for DNA,

small animal, and proteomic research including the Odyssey Imaging System

and MousePOD, which also offers researchers a cost-effective approach to in

vivo small animal imaging.
