Asia’s leading Enterprise IT publisher, Fairfax Business Media (FBM), has launched a new enterprise IT web portal at www.mis-asia.com. The portal is designed to become a complete one-stop library of articles, reports and case studies on management and technology issues from FBM and IDG’s global resources and journalists across Asia. All of FBM’s magazines have their own landing pages under the Magazines tab in the portal’s main menu.

Singapore (EMWNews) August 15, 2008 — Asia’s leading Enterprise IT publisher, Fairfax Business Media (FBM), has launched a new enterprise IT web portal at www.mis-asia.com to provide business and technology leaders with the resources they need to compete and win.

The portal is designed to become a complete one-stop library of articles, reports and case studies on management and technology issues from FBM and IDG’s global resources and journalists across Asia.

FBM Director, Andrew Smart, said that the portal consolidates FBM’s global, regional and local resources online in a powerful combination of news, features, research and digital media, providing our audiences with a competitive advantage in the workplace.

“Our new portal empowers the enterprise IT community to engage us how and when they wish through eNewsletters, blogs, RSS feeds and a steady stream of online publishing,” said Smart. “It provides a host of new resources including new multi-media features, white papers, events and deeper coverage of topics by job roles, industry verticals and geographies across Asia, including SE Asia, Hong Kong, China, India, Taiwan and Korea.”

Portal features include:

– Greater user interactivity through article comments and blogs, encouraging increased audience feedback and discussion about issues of the day;

– New sections with expert opinion, reviews and downloadable whitepapers;

– A dedicated multimedia section to highlight videos and podcasts;

– Tagging of all articles to allow user search by specific topics and geography;

– Social tagging for articles to networks such as Facebook, Digg, and Slashdot;

– Individual RSS feeds for all sections, and;

– An exclusive section dedicated to FBM Asia events.

Smart said the web portal is an integral part of FBM’s on-going strategy to expand its presence in Asia and strengthen its digital offering within an integrated media model.

“FBM Asia has the strongest portfolio of enterprise IT titles in Asia and operates an integrated media model with print, online and event channels,” Smart said.

“Our vision is to be the leading integrated multi-media platform for enterprise IT in Asia and our expanding web presence increases opportunities for our clients to use multiple, highly targeted ways to connect with our audiences throughout their campaign lifecycles.”

FBM Managing Editor and MIS Asia Editor, Ross O. Storey, said that all of FBM’s magazines have their own landing pages under the Magazines tab in the portal’s main menu.

“The magazine archives section is being populated and previous issues will also be progressively accessible on the site,” Storey said. “In addition, users will be able to access the vast amount of enterprise IT news, features, opinion and multi-media content available to FBM Asia through its licensing arrangements, which include access to IDG and Fairfax Media’s global content.

“Perhaps most exciting of all is the direct interaction our editors and journalists will have with our readers through the article comments and our blogs. We expect reader contributions will be thought-provoking and likely to stimulate some exciting debates.”

Fairfax Business Media is part of Fairfax Media, Australasia’s largest newspaper publisher with titles such as the Australian Financial Review, Business Review Weekly, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Melbourne Age, The Sun-Herald and The Canberra Times.
