Suffering Family Devastated Mom Stranded Overseas Diagnosed with Cancer Launch GoFundMe
VALDOSTA, GA September 14, 2021 – Brenda Williams and her family have suffered more devastation recently than most families. A dedicated mother working overseas to provide for her family was diagnosed with cancer and now seeks assistance to return home to the USA.
Brenda is a mom stranded overseas and has launched a GoFundMe to help with costs to return home. This is the news nobody ever wants to receive but this story just breaks your heart and compels you to assist.

Recently, things took a turn for the worse. Back in February 2020, Brenda started going back and forth to the hospital for abdominal pain. After several CT scans, PAP Smear, Hysteroscopic myomectomy, She was told on November 9th, 2020 that she had what they thought was cancer. There was no clear diagnosis, and they needed a biopsy to be sure. After a couple of weeks of trying to wrap her head around what was being said and going from one hospital to another (trying to find a specific Gynecologic Oncologist) just to spend 12 days in a hospital (that does not accept her medical Insurance) endure two biopsies just to be told it’s not a GYN cancer but a GI cancer of unknown origin.
Sadly, Brenda went back and forth and back and forth finally got a PET Scan. Before she could be given a complete diagnosis, she ended up in the hospital on January 15 of this year. Brenda was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which has spread to her ovaries, uterus, and omentum.
They performed a colostomy surgery, and now Brenda is left with a stoma. With all Brenda has endured and continues to go through, this ileostomy is the hardest for Brenda to adjust to.
The devastation of this news is invariable, especially when one learns that Brenda’s family has endured so much over the past couple of years, including her lovely granddaughters. Just to give you a little insight into the past couple of years, Brenda is the third oldest of 7. Brenda’s mom has had to go through the loss of her second-born on June 30, 2020, from esophageal cancer.
During her sister’s battle, her brother (her mom’s firstborn) went through the ordeal of losing his sight. And as Brenda stated, She only found out in November she was diagnosed with cancer of her own. All of this transpired in the short period of a year during unprecedented times.
Now comes 2021 and the last word on her brother is he has less than 4 months to live as he is dealing with kidney failure, liver failure, and multiple metastatic myelomas throughout his lower bones. That’s a lot for an 81-year-old to have to deal with.
Brenda is a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, niece, and cousin. Brenda is stranded overseas, and still fighting and enduring all the above just wants to return to the USA to be with her family. Brenda is alone without any family for support, and Brenda truly feels the toll of being alone.
Brenda has not seen family for a very long time at this point, since January of 2019, and is trying to deal with this cancer battle on her own.
