American Arium Announces Debug Support for New Intel® Low Power Platform
Arium’s Latest Debug Solution Supports the Intel® AtomTM Processor
TUSTIN, CA–( EMWNews – April 2, 2008) – American Arium, an industry leader in
hardware-assisted development tools, today announced debug support for the
Intel® Atom processor Z500 series. Arium’s hardware-assisted debug
solution comes in the form of the company’s ECM-XDP3 JTAG emulator and
latest SourcePoint debug interface. The Intel Atom processor is based on
Intel’s new 45nm Hi-k low power microarchitecture.
“Arium’s goal is to always be on the cutting edge of the latest
technological developments,” said Larry Traylor, American Arium’s CEO. “As
a member of the Intel® Embedded and Communications Alliance, we work
particularly hard to support the latest Intel innovations. We designed the
ECM-XDP3 and Arium software interface with the Intel Atom processor and
similar processors in mind.”
The ECM-XDP3 is Arium’s latest “green” in-target probe, complying with the
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive specified for the EU
market. SourcePoint, the company’s flagship debugger, offers the program
and firmware developer unsurpassed visibility to and manipulation of code
via a series of intuitive screens and dialogs with numerous viewing and
customization options. The debug solution operates in real time with all
core frequencies and works with today’s most popular compiler tool chains.
It supports industry-standard input file formats and includes a robust
C-like command language as well as support for the Intel® Framework for
UEFI.
Intel’s newest low power platform is ideal for Mobile Internet Devices
(MIDs) and Ultra-Mobile PCs (UMPCs). In addition to the Intel Atom
processor, the platform also includes the Intel® System Controller Hub
(SCH) US15W, Intel’s latest integrated single-chip chipset.
“American Arium offers third-party development tools for the new Intel Atom
platform,” said Jonathan Luse, director of marketing, Low Power Embedded
Products Division, Intel. “It’s another tool for our customers as they
incorporate the platform into their products rapidly.”
The Arium ECM-XDP3 emulator with SourcePoint is available now. Contact
