Strongbow Updates Exploration Activities

Exploration Starts at Shovelnose Gold Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA–(EMWNews – Aug. 5, 2008) – Strongbow Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SBW) is pleased to provide the following update on its wholly owned Nickel King, Snowbird and Shovelnose exploration projects.

Nickel King project – Field exploration activities at the Nickel King project, located in the southern NWT, have wrapped up for the 2008 field season. A total of 44 drill holes were completed during the program. All drill holes have been logged and samples are either at or en route to the assay laboratory for analysis. Final results for twenty six of the forty four drill holes are pending and will be reported when they are available. Drilling through the spring break up period has allowed the Company to reach its drilling objectives earlier than planned. The Company can therefore reduce planned expenditures by ending field operations a full month earlier than budgeted.

Snowbird nickel project – Regional exploration work on the Snowbird nickel project in northern Saskatchewan is also complete. Exploration activities included a six hole (679 m) drilling program that tested targets in the Dumas and Nickel Lake areas, approximately 40 and 30 km north of Stony Rapids, respectively. Drilling targeted a number of coincident magnetic/electromagnetic anomalies associated with mapped norite exposures. Samples from these drill holes have been sent for analysis, the results of which will be reported when received.

The Snowbird exploration program also included mapping, prospecting and geochemical surveys of additional target areas located elsewhere within the Snowbird project in Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. Fieldwork focused on ground truthing targets identified from detailed airborne geophysical (VTEM) surveys completed earlier this spring. Approximately 460 rock, soil and biogeochemical samples were collected during the program. Mapping and prospecting surveys have resulted in the identification of new occurrences of sulphide-bearing mafic and ultramafic intrusions coincident with airborne geophysical and lake sediment geochemical anomalies in the Heel, 5 Mile and Reeve Lake target areas, Saskatchewan, as well as in the Opescal Lake area straddling the Saskatchewan / Northwest Territories border approximately 30 km southwest of Nickel King.

Shovelnose gold project – Exploration has commenced at the Company’s wholly owned Shovelnose project, located at the southern end of the Spences Bridge gold belt, approximately 30 km south of the town of Merritt in southern British Columbia. Exploration activities are scheduled to include mapping, prospecting and soil geochemical surveys as well as mechanized trenching of the Mik and Line 6 gold showings. Gold mineralization is characterized by a series of shallow to moderately west dipping, colloform-banded quartz veins that appear to be spatially associated with a series of rhyolite domes. The Mik showing has been traced over a 200 m by 80 m area with 19 of 57 bedrock and float samples collected in 2007 returning in excess of 0.5 g/t Au, including three best assays of 43.8 g/t Au, 11.1 g/t Au and 8.7 g/t Au. The Line 6 showing is associated with a 600 m by 250 m multi-element soil geochemical anomaly. Twelve of 34 rock samples collected in 2007 have returned in excess of 0.5 g/t gold with three best assays of 4.9 g/t Au, 3.3 g/t Au, and 2.1 g/t Au. (Please see Strongbow news release #08-01, February 19, 2008 for details). Bedrock exposure in the Mik and Line 6 areas is generally poor and trenching will allow for a more complete evaluation of the style, structural controls and size of the mineralized systems.

Strongbow’s 2008 exploration programs are conducted under the supervision of David Gale, P.Geo. (BC), Vice-President of Exploration for Strongbow and a Qualified Person within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101.
